This was another great and challenging film project in the Amazon region, in Brazil, shot between Rodônia and Amazonas states.
The film crew, led by the creative director Johannes Honsel, joined the Fixer Brazil team in São Paulo, and flew to the city of Porto Velho. The first assignment was to film the Amazon Fires. It required some research and a recce trip, months before the shooting, to find the right place to shoot.
From there, we traveled to the Jupaú Indigenous land, for 4 days of shooting at their territory. Again, arranging all details with the Indigenous People and also organising all accommodation, transportation and food logistics in advance was essential for the success of the shooting.
We have organised a base camp for the film crew at the village, with tends and a master chef to prepare all meals to keep the crew healthy and motivated for the job.
The connection between the crew with the locals is essential, and par of our work is to make this happen smoothly. `
This was just the first part of the film trip. After flying to Manaus, the last part of the shooting required finding a scientist who works with Sloths to get some amazing scenes of the actors with this species in the middle of forest. It’s essential to have all permits when filming wildlife, and we always guarantee that.
At the end, the prize for the crew was 2 days of a boat trip in the Amazon and Nego Rivers, shooting some pristine forests and amazing scenarios that you can only find in the Amazon region.
Fixer Brazil was the full service producer for this job, taking care of all logistics for transportation, accommodation, food, local payments, and production services.
